Project Propeller 2016

Project Propeller is an annual reunion for 150+ WWII aircrew, to which they are flown from all over the UK in light aircraft by current volunteer pilots. The Evening Standard described it rather well here and Flyer magazine here.

VENUE: Project Propeller is pleased to announce that our next event will now be held at:

LEEDS EAST AIRPORT (formerly RAF CHURCH FENTON) (EGXG) on SATURDAY 4 JUNE 2016

RAF Church Fenton opened in 1937, as part of the pre-war expansion of the RAF; the first resident squadrons were 72 and 213 Squadrons, flying Gloster Gauntlets and Gladiators. During the war, it was used for the training of night-fighter crews. In the 1950s, its was home to the Gloster Meteors of 19, 72 & 609 Squadrons.

REGISTRATION: Whether you are a former WWII aircrew member (friend or former foe), a current qualified pilot willing to fly in a veteran, or a volunteer helper, we invite you to join us by registering for the ultimate WWII aircrew reunion.

BRIEFING NOTES: Registered volunteer pilots should consult the Leeds East/Church Fenton Briefing Notes (TBA)

SLOT TIMES: Slot times have been allocated by the PP organisers (graham@projectpropeller.co.uk) here.

PHOTO ALBUM FOR PP 2015: can be found here.

PP BACKGROUND DOCUMENT: is here.
